Charity Beer & Gin Festival 2021 – Cancelled

| 13th August 2021
It is with a heavy heart that we make the following announcement as we know how much everyone has been looking forward to this year’s Aylsham Beer and Gin Festival. Believe us when we say we also have been looking forward to it so much too. The time has now come to begin making big decisions about the festival that involve the safety of the visitors and volunteers. It’s also time to start making purchases to make the festival possible. These purchases are made with charitable money that has been hard earned and raised by yourselves, our local supporters. Although ‘Freedom Day’ has come and bought with it high hopes for the future; there is is still a great deal of uncertainty about the near future with regards to Coronavirus and associated restrictions.

The time has now come to make a responsible choice about the event, to ensure the safety of our locals and ensure that the hard earned charitable funds we raise are not wasted if the event was to have been cancelled closer to the event date. Therefore we must announce that the 2021 Aylsham Beer and Gin Festival has been cancelled. It has been the toughest decision we’ve ever had to make and we understand there will be disappointment – this is echoed throughout our family of tables too. We sincerely hope you can support and understand our decision and furthermore, we hope you will join us next year when (fingers crossed) we can celebrate as a whole community with the biggest and best festival we’ve ever seen.

Here at the Round Table we would have loved to have been able to reschedule (and we tried) and we have left our decision and announcement until the very last possible moment.  This is probably not unexpected and we would like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors and all parties involved to make this event possible every year.  As per our last announcement, the team are fully committed to put on an extravaganza next year and we will commence planning at the back end of 2022 so expect to hear from us. 🙂

The festival aside, as per the values of Round Table, we would encourage the community to pull together and look after family, friends and neighbours during these challenging times.  We also place a massive thanks to those from our own community continuing to assist on the frontline as they are true heroes.  Please adhere to government instructions for the good of us all so we can get back to where we need to be in the shortest time possible.

Unfortunately this will affect our ability to donate to good causes in the community over the next year but we will work to raise what we can and continue to be a force for good.

All of us at Aylsham Round Table wish you, family and friends the very best health and fortune through the coming months.

Best regards

Paul Wright, Chairman
Aylsham & District Round Table
